Introduction

Among contemporary Vietnamese artists, only a few artists dare to choose their own unique styles and pursue it permanently, even if the public love their paintings or not. The painter Nguyen Minh Phuoc is such that case. His painting shows a very different view of the artist's inner being. His art style has shown up a very different view in his inner mind. His paintings include mostly large spaces, like a desert, or some kind of meditative realm in the mind of Nguyen Minh Phuoc, without clearly defining space and time. The image of a yellow monk glittering in a wide flat floor, emphasizing nothingness. The paintings seem to be an inner cult of the artist and a place of spiritual sanctuary after the extremes of daily life.
