Streets are quiet in hot summer noons or solitude in indistinct rainy afternoon. There are a deserted alley with graceful stall, a small street corner, a flowerist, half-open, equivocal windows, a Bougainvillia flower trellis hung down the parthouse, and looming shadows through the curtains. The agitating sceneries of the cities full of heritage such as Hanoi or Hoi An have impressed a lot of artists. Streets in Dang Van Quynh’s works are casual with subtle gray tones dimming with contemplation and simplicity, reaching the fineness hidden inside the scenes. His works are are also colorful paintings of sunny but calm streets in the Central or rainy afternoons in the reclusive old towns.

Dang Van Quynh (1982) graduated from the University of Hanoi Industrial Fine Arts in 2007. He has had many exhibitions at home and abroad. His works are kept in the art galleries in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, France, Australia, the US and elsewhere.
