Nguyen Minh Phuoc

Be one of pioneers of Vietnam Art. In the period after innovation, Nguyen Minh Phuoc has been known as a non-traditional face since around the year 2000 when he first worked together with the Nha San artist group and launched Installation paintings to open the Contemporary Art. In 2003, Nguyen Minh Phuoc opened the Ryllega Art Gallery, which is considered to be soonest old-order breaking gallery in Vietnam; paid special attention to new art subjects; encouraged the involvement of artists and introduced new artists’ faces; discovered and experienced subjects, contemporary art practical ways. In this process, he is one of the most active person.

His paintings show a very different insight on the innermost feeling of painters. Mostly, his paintings present large spaces which look like a desert or a meditation area in the mind of the painter without the space or time. An image of a monk in yellow hovering in the air is shown with his back shade glittering on a large plane, emphasizing the nihility. Paintings seem to be the improvement of the artist’s innermost feeling and the spiritual space besides extremes of daily life. Nguyen Minh Phuoc was borne in 1973 in Hanoi. He graduated from Hanoi University of Fine Art in 1997. He attended many significant art events and his paintings were displayed in the United States, Britain, Germany, Taiwan, China, Switzerland, Norway and Vietnam.
