In Vietnam, painting has a history of thousands of years, but the lacquer-forming lacquer has only been formed for less than a century. With its uniqueness in shaping method, this material quickly becomes a typical artistic value of Vietnam and is respected by the world. After the Doi Moi period, despite the opportunity to be opened to many different types of art, many artists still retain the traditional lacquer painting style, such as Do Duc Khai. The main theme in Do Duc Khai’s works is mainly labor images, historical images, especially industrial images in the period of transition. Despite using traditional materials, Do Duc Khai still perfectly applies visual language and new artistic conception in the paintings.
