Each of Van Tho’s paintings is a unique viewpoint for the reality of life. Independently of all the academic models that often aspire to create visual forms of experience, Van Tho has created a large number of paintings depicting people, mainly are elderly men. His characters and objects are always carefully depicted with colors, from customes, hairstyle, glasses, to expressions and gestures. His characters, even if it contains nostalgia, it also has shown any sadness or aridness, on the other hand, it is connected with the artist ego, in small stories with an artist’s optimistic attitude.
