Hoang Phuong Vy

Hoang Phuong Vy is one of the few artists who follows the Naïve art of Vietnamese contemporary art. Throughout the paintings, this Naïve art style and aesthetic spirit are shown in the imagines of girls and boys hugging the hens, the fish; they can use the fan or the fulte. This art also includes the houses and the childishness of adult characters. Highlighted with the abstract, clear and simplified style, Hoang Phuong Vy always puts two separate objects, or sometimes two spaces next to each other in the same small space.
The artist Hoang Phuong Vy often puts the red color next to the green, the red next to the pink, the yellow next to the brown; the shades against the harmonious smoothness, it even does not follow the principles of theory; on the other hand, it makes the painting more impressive and give us a stun, or the painting is too light to the naivety. As a result, Hoang Phuong Vy’s artistic paintings are always distinct and independent – a childhood world separated from the reality and absurdity, between the luxury and abundance.
Hoang Phuong Vy was born in 1962 in Hanoi. He graduated from Hanoi Architectural University. He attended many important art events and his paintings were exhibited in America, Hongkong, Taiwan, Japan, China and Vietnam.
