Artist Le Thiet Cuong once commented on Bui Thanh Thuy's artworks: “The pieces are melted constantly, smudged very alike silk, very Thuy, so Thuy's flowers are less real to live a longer life. When we were young, we can simulate reality but with Abstract, it takes a certain life experience to perform. Live first, created art after. For every abstract always starts from reality. It doesn't matter what flowers, but those flowers are always the cause, the departure station. The flowers are the rope for the kite to fly from the real shore to the abstract terminal."

Indeed, even though she is an artist of the Abstract, the thoughts and feelings of Bui Thanh Thuy seemingly still come from reality. Reality is what we see, what we know, but we can never equate reality with the truth. Because what we see is not necessarily the absolute truth, the new generation of artists is looking for new explanations for this perspective: reimagining our own feelings. Then even when the truth is changed, our feelings at that time are still something truly original.
